Look up the most recent statistics on a country’s youthful workforce, and you’ll discover that India has the world’s largest young workforce, as well as the fastest growing economy. However, the country’s substantial skill development gaps are the other side of this critical human resource advantage. And the needy yet talented students are the ones who are bearing the brunt of this prevailing skill gap.
With a blueprint in hand and a vision to be a catalyst for the upliftment of underprivileged students, Meghna Joshi, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics and a Master’s degree in Environment and Development, launched her Delhi-based social venture SWAN – (Skilled Workforce Advancing Nation) Livelihood. The name “SWAN” is derived from the Hindi word Hans for the sacred bird, which is also associated with Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge and Learning.
Meghna got an in-depth understanding of the issues encountered by students from economically disadvantaged families and their employers via her years of experience in the corporate and humanitarian sectors. She envisions SWAN LIVELIHOOD as a bridge between formal education and current business demands, enabling a streamlined path for qualified students to find suitable jobs.
When asked how SWAN is different, Meghna says, “Our approach is distinctly unique. Unlike others we don’t offer pre-packaged, one-size-fits-all programs. Instead, our focus is on creating a tailored and closely monitored learning journey.”
In the vast and diverse landscape of India, government initiatives such as the Skill India Mission have played a significant role. However, it’s the dynamic contributions of social ventures like SWAN LIVELIHOOD that are seamlessly complementing these efforts and effecting tangible, real-world changes in the lives of many.

2. Development Consultancy:
Providing strategic advisory services and action-oriented programs these collaborations extend to NGOs, organizations, and incubators operating within the development sector. Their goal is to empower grassroots communities and enhance the quality of life for marginalized populations through targeted efforts.
3. Youth Engagement:

This initiative is designed to bridge the critical gap between growth and sustainability.
