Founded in 2023, the label was born out of a real need—affordable, stylish, and skin-friendly clothing that doesn’t compromise on quality. With a background in garment manufacturing, founder Anuja and her husband Shlok took a leap from supplying to brands into building one of their own. Starting in a small boutique in their backyard, the dream grew into a full-fledged slow fashion label serving women across India and abroad.
Why We Chose Cotton—and Why It’s So Much More Than Fabric.
Every piece we create begins with one goal: to feel as good on your skin as it looks on you. Our fabric of choice is Indian cotton, sourced directly from South India. We work with various types—from mulmul, voile, and poplin to cotton gauze, linen blends, and flex—each carefully selected to be breathable, soft, and summer-ready. Our garments can handle 20+ washes without losing shape or comfort, making them true slow fashion staples.
Cotton isn’t just a fabric choice—it’s a commitment to supporting Indian textiles and promoting sustainable living. We believe in fair pricing, ethical sourcing, and minimizing waste. Many of our pieces are dyed using vegetable-based dyes, and we produce limited stock drops (just 100–200 per design) to avoid overproduction. We’re working toward becoming a 100% sustainable brand—one mindful step at a time.

Behind every outfit is a process rooted in care. From hand-sketching designs to fabric cutting, stitching, and final quality checks, each piece is touched by the hands of skilled artisans in our local workshop. Our small but passionate team ensures that each garment reflects the core values of the brand: originality, ease, and integrity. The founder is personally involved in every stage—ensuring that nothing leaves the boutique without her stamp of approval.
More than just a business, Label by Anuja is a family-run labor of love. It’s women-led and women-run, with a team of 15 dedicated staff and the ongoing support of Anuja’s family. Even her children are her daily motivation and cheerleaders! Whether it’s hidden message tags, sustainable packaging, or size inclusivity (up to 5XL), we’re building a brand that feels personal, intentional, and full of heart.
