Gifting is a gesture that carries a lot of meaning and emotion for both the giver and the receiver. But sometimes, a gift can mean no more than just a token. One womanprenuer, Namrata Tanna with an amazing vision has redefined gifting and how!
Starting from 2018, Namrata harnessed the culinary skills of Mahila Mandals and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Mumbai. She created a genuinely women centric platform Cooked by Moms that brought to underprivileged women across communities, the opportunity to earn a regular livelihood, gain respect and aspire to a better standard of living.
True empowerment in every sense.
A journalist by profession, Namrata has worked with several Mumbai-based non-profits for over 10 years. Her latest venture under the COOKED BY MOMS banner – Boxes Of Goodness – is a brilliant idea. It has smartly stepped in to create a beautiful bridge between women self-help groups, corporates and individuals who want to actively support underprivileged communities, especially during the festive gifting season.
“Boxes Of Goodness offers a premium, thoughtfully curated and meaningful gifting experience for clients, while helping socially responsible brands build their business and reach a wider audience,” quips Namrata with a smile.
Adding an almost zero waste, socially conscious touch to the concept of gifting….
Boxes Of Goodness has recently started out, but it has set its sights really high. It aspires to be the brand that makes gifting a socially responsible gesture in every little way. The idea being to eliminate waste and make gifting a reusable or shareable option.
So Boxes of Goodness are actually carefully curated hampers, loaded with goodness and concern. Care is also taken to ensure that that every brand in the hamper is an ambassador for women empowerment.
Products from emerging women-run small businesses, farm to table initiatives, self-help groups, NGOs, and environmentally and socially conscious brands are all part of the hampers. Most importantly, sales proceeds go towards supporting women’s empowerment and skill building programs.
